Yes Ernie is a blend - his mother is a show type and his dad is a nice pet type.

The normal green above is not blended, he is pure pet type so will be smaller.

I still find it hard to tell the gender when they have the black on the cere

Well we just went to the SA Bird Company to get a quaranteen/hosptial/gaol cage for the new one and guess who we saw arriving just as we were driving out of the side street. ^_^

What have they done with all their budgies, in fact all of the outside cages were empty?? I could only see a few inside.

They had very few birds. Its breeding season - there will be lots and LOTS of birds in February when all the breeders start to cull. :)
