It is so sad when they dont get a chance to see the world. :P The little chicks sibling seems fine, but i will be keeping a close eye on it. It is not showing the same symptoms as the chick who died. the chick who died, was a really noisy squawker, and now that i think back it could have been from pain :laughter:

I only have 7 chicks all up this round so I hope i dont have any more loss.

On a brighter note, one of the albino chicks looks to be a creamino :D there is pale yellow showing in the feather and both of Lady's chicks are doing well. :)

congrats on the bubs liv :feedbirds: and sorry for the loss of your chick :) . great pics too and i look forward to seeing them as they feather up , especially the creamino

Sorry to hear you lost a baby Liv. It really sucks :)

Your other babies look great! I think small clutches are good. I hope all your babies grow up big and strong :P

Hey Liv your babies are very cute I can't wait to see them when they get feathers. Sorry to hear about the lost chick, it is always sad when things like that happen.

Keep us posted with lots of pics

Here is a picture of one of Lady's bubs (top) in the foster nest with the two albinos. The middle chick looks to be the cremino :D

Awwwww.......they all look lovely and healthy and I can definitely see the yellow on the middle baby :D

yep the yellow is there... look forward to seeing it develop into a lovely budgie!!

I am so sorry to hear about your chick Liv.

Your babies are sooo gorgeous. I just love them when they start to feather up, the cutest thing ever

Is creamino sex linked? So will any creamino's be hens? I am trying to understand the genetics thing a little more :mallet:

Yes, both the cremino (which is a YF albino) and the albino are female.

Thanks Liv  The creamino sounds very pretty, I can't wait to see her get feathers through :mallet:

I am having a run of bad luck with this round :budgiedance:

I have to admit i am learning so much in the process too - i feel like i am on a crash corse on everything budgie.

Today i discovered one chick with splayed legs  Notice the bowing bone and redness to the leg.

The splint has been placed I am giving a drop of avical to the beak each day.

I have caught it early so should recover well :)

Oh LIV.... Poor little guy, but good pick up and hopefully fix by you! :budgiedance:

Great job Liv! That picture looks very cute, I know its not supposed to but it still does lol

I have a friend who is having problems with splayed legs in one particular nest, she seems to think mum sits too hard on the babies to keep causing this. I will try to bring her attention to your post when I see her next as I think its a great picture showing both the splayed leg and the splint. What did you make the splint out of??

It's a shame you are not having much luck, don't beat yourself up about it - at least your learning from everything

I can't help but smile at that picture of the poor little guy with the splint, he/she looks so gorgeous :budgiedance:

Great observations Liv ... I am sure that it will recover you got it nice and early :budgiedance:

Poor little thing, looks so cute there ...

Thanks guys. I used cosmetic foam/sponge - soft but firm :budgiedance:

I also followed Kaz's instructions which can be found ---> here

No matter the problem there always seems to be an answer to the question on here... Its great! Sorry to hear about the splayed legs...

It is amazing how this site has taught has to look for early signs of this and that, excellent, I am sure this little one will be okay. :D

A photo update :D

Because its been like a game of musical nests this round, i will show the babies by which parents they are genetically related to - they are not necessarily raising them though.

You have very cute babies, Liv. It is a shame about the one with splayed legs, i hope the chick does improve for you.

Liv they are :D just perfect ...

Are you sure that is a YF2 ... It is a rather Bright yellow for one :) ... Maybe it is just my eyes . Looks lut to me .. But hey I am always wrong with gene
