September 14, 200816 yr Author Told you there would be eggs by the weekend You are a very clever lady Kaz!!! Trust the pet types to get into action before the show types This pair Are still doing nothing and i am considering aborting their attempt as he has started to moult and she got her leg caught in between one of the cage doors and spent god knows how long hanging upside down during the night : - i found her this morning and put her in the hospital cage for the day. her leg had a little blood, but seems in one piece. She scared me to death seing her hanging like that :
September 14, 200816 yr OMG! the poor thing - If they are molting best to take them out .. CONGRATS ON THE EGGS MATEY !! WOO HOOOO
September 14, 200816 yr Author Lady has the HUUUUUUGE poos now, I have everything crossed she will take good care of eggs and chicks.... good thing i have 3 other foster parents to choose from just in case My Yellow DF spangle is still fine this morning. She mustn't have been stuck for too long. She has a small graze on her leg, but otherwise fine. Her mate is moulting though so bye bye nest box Edited September 14, 200816 yr by **Liv**
September 15, 200816 yr Congrats on your first cabinet eggies Liv!! May there be many more and you cope with the frustration of inning and outing of pairs that do and dont work! LOL (my current frustration anyway)
September 15, 200816 yr Congratulations Liv, that is so exciting :hap: I have my fingers crossed for Lady I was a little worried that the crazy weather last night might have spooked them a little bit, it spooked me
September 15, 200816 yr Congrats on the eggs Liv, Ill cross everything that I can for you. Good luck! As for the moulting boy, I was just reading that they also go through an unfertile stage when they are moulting so it just means that when he comes out of it, if she is in season wait the 11 to 14 day period then pop him back in as he should be ready and raring to go.

Thanks Pippi And Thanks Guys It is really exciting and the weather felt like it was going to blow our roof off this morning I love extreme weather! The bird room shuts tight so they have been dry and warm (unlike me who has had to run erinds all day ) Now I am just waiting on Lady to lay as i got an Egg from this pair today :nest:
September 15, 200816 yr Author Lady (below) laid her first egg off the perch during the night It has a small section of shell missing, but the membrane is still intact - can it be fostered/fixed?? I knew from the moment i bought Lady, she would be trouble How do i teach her to lay in the box???
