Posted September 7, 200816 yr Some of you may remember this little man Pumpkin: Well a couple of months on he is the size of a kitten and well on the way to release weight, here he is now: This is my new little man Rusty, he is a ringtail: I couldn't get him to sit still for a nice photo so here is a little video:
September 7, 200816 yr Fantastic Pics MB, ... He is looking sooo much better and Cute .... So what will happen to him once he is old enough, and strong and healthy enough?
September 7, 200816 yr Author Well theoretically he will be released back where he was found, it will be tough for all concerned though as when I open the door to his cage he barrels out at high speed and jumps in my lap for a cuddle! He is currently about 700 grams and he needs to be close to 1.2kg before he is ready for release.
September 7, 200816 yr They are both very cute, it is good to hear that he will be ready for release soon but that must be hard for you. Even though it is the best for them it would be hard not to get attached to them. Edited September 7, 200816 yr by deb
September 7, 200816 yr Author It's fairly debatable whether it will be the best for him personally since the success rate for release runs somewhere around the 20% mark for animals given support after release and close to zero for those not given any support but I can only do what I can and hope for the best.
September 7, 200816 yr That is sad, i really hope that everything goes well for Pumpkin when he does get released.
September 8, 200816 yr He doesn't want to put the weight on I can see it in his eyes He wants to stay with MUMMY for ever!!!!
September 8, 200816 yr Author He does Neat. When I open the cage door he jumps out and runs to me and jumps in my lap for a cuddle and licks my hands He spent last night until I went to bed running around in my bedroom with the cat!
