hi, I am new, I have 2 budgies in same cage one has broken leg and always falls to the bottom of the cage. there is a big lump were the bone is, what should I do?

I would take it to the vet as it could be serious. I have had a budgie with a broken leg, but i didnt know it was broken. It healed but her leg bowed out as she grew older. I think you should take it to a avian vet imediately and you might be able to make it grow straight or normal.

Poor budgie

 

I also think you should visit an avian vet. If your budgie is struggling with the way it healed like you say it is, then the vet may re-break the leg (under anesthesia) and set it properly.

How did the leg get broken in the first place?

This sounds serious that your budgie didn't get treatment in the first place, walking around with a broken leg is very painful and no assistance was provided at the time of injury? Why?

 

The bird needs to see an avian vet nethertheless so it can get the treatment it so needs.
