Covering Breeding Cages With A Sheet?

Hi

I have 8 breeding cages on seperate shelves outside my avairy, under a tin awning I built. They do not get wet but I would imagine it would get cold for them. Latley I have been putting sheets over the top of them at night to keep them warm. I'm curious as to what everyone else without breeding rooms does. Do you cover them with a sheet or somthing to keep them warm? I read that budgies can deal with cold or hot weather but if its cold one day then very hot the next, that is how you lose them. So if I cover the birds with a sheet at night they should be warm like they are during the day. Who here has breeding cages outside and not in breeding rooms? How do you do it?

I am going to get a breeding room eventually but not at the moment.

Thanks

hey pearce it not so much the temperature but the wind I would be worried about, I would say if they are in closed cages (the ones that have the wire just on the front then they should be fine but if they are in all wire cages where they are exposed to the wind then I would cover them up,
