In show birds it is after their adult moult, essentially when the bars dissappear off their heads and they develop other characteristics of adult budgies such as eye rings so around 5-7 months is about right I think.

Technically a fledgling is a baby budgie just out of the nest and its first couple of weeks out and about. At its first moult it is a juvenile, and it is deemed an adult past a year of age. Show budgies are deemed adults by the legrings...if they wear the year before's ring they are then an adult and younger they are

classed as "ÿoung".

If in reference to breeding you are looking for the definition of an adult for breeding, its preferable that they are a year or older.

Actually I was interested to know this because so far I have come across few local breeders/dealers and they seem to use this word more frequently in relation to deworming or feed supplements. Since I have got mixed answers from each of them...some say 3 months, few say 5 months and few say 6 months, so thought to check this basic thing from all of you experts.

Often commonly used terminology is incorrect.

If your adults are all wormed and you are keeping the babies there is no reason you can't just wait and do them whenever your adults are due again as long as they are older than about six weeks when they get the first dose, however if I am selling the babies then they get wormed before they go to their new homes.
