9 not the best photo of Big Vinnie....I will try and find a better one )

You would get yellow faced dominant pied violets and some normal violets

Males split for oplaline.

All hens would be opaline....?

Gorgeous birds. I'm with Lib and Norm - Sootica :D

Beautiful birds Kaz. I will be watching what the chick outcome is as I have a pair almost identical to put down next year when they're old enough.

I did not realise this was a new thread at first. I know I followed other threads of these 2, watching them produce young.

Very cool. Look forward to seeing results.

Sootica hasnt been with Vinnie before.

I know that, I know they have been with different partners, but you read the names and go.... "hang on...."

:D So maybe I will get some YF violets ...with SIZE ?

All hens would be opaline....?

25% would be opaline hens Only if the cock happens to be split for opaline.

Otherwise they will all be normal hens

Vinnie isnt split for opaline as far as I know.

Sorry.... :hap: , getting confused between opaline hens and cocks..... :) !!!

50% dominant pied, 50% normal. No opaline unless the cock is split for opaline. If he is split for opaline then you'll get opalines of both sexes. Half of the chicks should inherit the violet if he is single factor, they will all inherit single factor violet if he is double factor.

Wow, Great info Neville .... I need to have you on speed dial LOL :D

Kaz, i thought this was another test of yours when i read it :hap:

So I agree with Neville :D
