Posted August 28, 200816 yr I finally got the camera working and I can pretty much almost tell you what type of budgies I have except for.. Ozzie! Ozzie is one of my cock budgies and I need help on what colour/variety he is? And also what type of budgie I should pair him with. Here are some pictures and I will get some more of my other budgies once photobucket starts working a bit quicker. Its taking for agggeeeesss lol. Thank you all very much. Ozzie has no barring or wing markings and his body colour is on his head and its mixed with yellow. COMPLICATED. here are some pictures.
August 28, 200816 yr Ozzy is a handsome light green Opaline spangle. I am not sure what would be a good hen for him though - depends on what you want baby wise. I look forward to your other pictures
August 28, 200816 yr He's absolutely beautiful! I love the vivid colour on his back, above the tail. I don't know a whole lot about budgie varieties but I would have said opaline spangle too
August 28, 200816 yr Author Hehe thank you, he is one of my favourites! I am more so experimenting. I will try upload some of the pictures of the few hens that arnt paired up n tell me what you think. thanks again Oh and by the way the dates on the camera are not correct! I dont know how to set it back to the right date. I took most of my budgie pictures today Thanks guys pics of hens coming soon!Ducky im pretty sure is a dark-eyed clear having plum eyes but she has an iris?Angel im pretty sure is an opaline cobalt? And Xena I dont have a clue.. Lol.. Pied? Please feel free to correct me as I am learning Xena- Xena- Ducky- Ducky- Angel- Angel- Edited August 28, 200816 yr by **Liv** aligned photos and names
August 28, 200816 yr Ozzy is a handsome light green Opaline spangle. Once again...I totally agree with Liv
August 28, 200816 yr Author Actually I think Angel is an opaline sky blue being more an aqua colour but she also has a purpley tinge near her neck. just visible in pictures. i still need help on who i should pair ozzie to. thanks guys
August 28, 200816 yr Xena - Recessive pied Ducky - lutino Angel - Sky opaline By the look of those photo's however i'd probably say Xena is a cock.... Don't hold me to that one though. Recessive pieds still trick me alot Lovely birds What would you like to acheive from the offspring of Ozzie so we can advise you on what to pair him to? Edited August 28, 200816 yr by *libby*
August 28, 200816 yr Photobucket has an edit facility and you can rotate your pictures so they are the right way up
August 28, 200816 yr Author Xena - Recessive pied Ducky - lutino Angel - Sky opaline By the look of those photo's however i'd probably say Xena is a cock.... Don't hold me to that one though. Recessive pieds still trick me alot Lovely birds What would you like to acheive from the offspring of Ozzie so we can advise you on what to pair him to? Dont lutino's have red eyes? Ducky has dark blacky purply eyes with a white iris ring? not doubting you its just the pictures arnt exactly 100 percent accurate. I just want healthy little happy budgies. i love them so much! hehe. what would the offspring be to each hen? the possible outcomes. thanks as i said i am experimenting.
August 28, 200816 yr She's definatly lutino. Lutino's still get iris rings and their eyes look a deep reddy purple and the iris rings slightly yellow looking. Paired to Angel you'll get 50% opalines and 50% opaline spangles like dad. all green unless the cock is split to blue and any other hidden mutations the pair may have. Paired to ducky you'll get 50% spangles 50% normals some cocks split to opaline and Ino and some opalines or opaline spangle hens
August 28, 200816 yr Author WOW thats amazing libby! i think I might pair Ozzie to Ducky What do you think?
August 28, 200816 yr AlissaDee your top picture of that first Budgie lightgreen opline spangle his is just stunning his colour is Awesomeeeee and your others birds are beautiful too regards John & Swanacilli
August 28, 200816 yr Ozzy is clearwing as well as opaline spangle. He is a really beautiful bird If Ducky has black eyes she is a double factor spangle Angle is an opaline sky blue Xena is a recessive pied light green If Ozzzy was mated to Ducky you'd get spangle males and opaline spangle females, probably all green series. If he was mated to Angel you'd get opalines and opaline spangles in green series, but if he is split for blue you get blue series as well. If he was mated to Xena you'd get normal males, spangle males, opaline females and opaline spangle females, no recessive pieds unless Ozzy is split for rec pied. To get clearwing opaline spangles like ozzy his mate needs to be carrying a clearwing gene. The ideal would be an opaline clearwing Edited August 28, 200816 yr by Neville
