Lovely hen Dodger :D

She is a dominant pied spangle. Going from her colour which shows a bluish look to the rump area she may well be YF blue type 2 as well.

She is sitting weird...like a hen ready for breeding...they get a humpy rump look....or she may have had recent egglaying issues.

Nice looking hen :P

I am assuming that the patch taht is visible on the back of her head is from the spangle side of things, not that she is split recessive.

No, the patch on the back of her head is from the dominant pied side of things. As kaz said she's a dominant pied spangle and may be yf2 or just a green.

Primarily because of dominant pied, but some spangles also have that patch....in the early days of spangle breeding dominant pieds were used and often a spangle will have that same patch.

Yes, it's one of their traits. Same as the iris rings.

Some have less markings, some have more so the patch may or may not be seen as easily.

Don't dom pied have big Dots ( patches ) and the Recessives have little ones ..

yes...kind of. Its the recessive pied splits that have tiny patches.
