Posted August 26, 200816 yr okay so I just got two new birds I would like to breed with my gary wings if they would make a good mach. The new male (#27). What is he? And the new female (#28). What is she? Sorry her tail was messed up when I got here and is not back in yet. The new male (#27) can go with: Yellow Face type 2 Cobalt Greywing (you can not see it in this pictuer) or Sky Blue Cinnamon Wing The female (#28) could go with: Sky Blue Greywing Let me know for it would be okay to pair these guys up with gary wings and if so would the male work better with the gray or cinnamon? Thank You for all the help Edited August 26, 200816 yr by vegeta2802

August 26, 200816 yr Well spotted Kaz, I didn't even look at that I was concentrating to hard on the mutations Veg, they are young looking the eldest would be 6 months as only 2 of them have pale grey iris rings
August 26, 200816 yr Author The graywings are end of last years babies and the cinnamon I have only had for a few mouths dont know how it was when I got it the other two new guys I also do not know there ages but yes and see the color on there cere. O and by the way sorry for not saying it before the pictuer of the graywings and the cinnamon is not new pictuers. I took the pictuer of the new birds right before posting. I was looking to get more graywings or cinnamon. I dont mine all to much what I get but I have someone that wants some graywing and cinnamon. Wich do you think would be best to pair? what would I get for what pairs? Again a BIG thank you for all the help

A 12 to 16 week old budgie can get a coloured cere.

A 12 to 16 week old budgie can get a coloured cere. Yea I know they get the color when there still babies. And I know the eyes get smaller as they get older. So your thinking my babies are not breeding age yet? Its okay if there not I can wate just would like to know who can go with who. I have about 7 older pair I know are older I can breed if I really wanted. I do not need to breed these guys what every you guys think I know my two graywings should be about breeding age and I really dont know about the others. I just well wate till there breeding age if there not yet no big. Would you like newer pictuers? Edited August 26, 200816 yr by vegeta2802
August 26, 200816 yr Newer pictures sound good. But i agree, they all look far too young to breed with yet
August 26, 200816 yr The pictures won't load on my computer for some reason so I'll make some predictions for the chicks based on Neat's assessment of the mutations. I have noticed that she usually gets them right Opaline spangle sky blue cock mated to a cinnamon cobalt hen will produce: spangle and normal males, opaline and opaline spangle females, no cinnamon unless the cock is split for cinnamon. The chicks will be half each of sky blue and cobalt. Opaline spangle sky blue cock mated to a mauve opaline spangle hen will produce: 50% opaline spangles, 25% double factor spangles that are masking opaline and 25% opalines. They will all be cobalt and if the hen is violet half of them will have violet added. Yellow face cobalt greywing cock mated to a mauve opaline spangle hen will produce: 50% spangles and 50% normals. No greywing unless the hen is split for greywing. No opaline unless the cock is split for opaline. Half of the chicks will be yellow face. They will be half each of cobalt and mauve. If the hen is violet half of them will have violet added Yellow face cobalt greywing cock mated to a cobalt cinnamon hen will produce: All normals 50% cobalt, 25% sky blue and 25% mauve. Half of them will inherit the yellow face. There will be no cinnamons unless the cock is split for cinnamon and no greywings unless the hen is split for greywing Sky blue greywing cock mated to a mauve opaline spangle hen will produce: 50% spangles and 50% normals. No greywing unless the hen is split for greywing. They will all be cobalt. Sky blue greywing cock mated to a cobalt cinnamon hen will produce: All normals. Half sky blue and half cobalt. There will be no cinnamons unless the cock is split for cinnamon and no greywings unless the hen is split for greywing In all these pairings there is always the possibility that the birds are carrying other genes that we can't see so some surprises are always possible Edited August 26, 200816 yr by Neville
August 26, 200816 yr Author Does the beak on the second photo look overly long to anyone else? yea it dose. I have to get it trimed thats how it was when I got him. HERE IS THE NEW PICTUERS (AND YOU GUY ARE MOSTLY RIGHT THEY ARE NOT BREEDING AGE YET BUT STILL LIKE TO KNOW HOW I CAN PAIR UP LATER) AND THE NEW GUYS SO YOU CAN SEE THERE COLOR BETTER
August 26, 200816 yr Author The pictures loaded for me this time. The new hen is just spangle, no opaline okay thank you and Neat sayed that she is a mauve or violet Opaline Spangle Hen. Your saying just Spangle so is it mauve or violet what do you think? Thank You Edited August 26, 200816 yr by vegeta2802
August 26, 200816 yr Author What about Quarantine??? They're in a cage by themselves right now and have been. They will be until I know there okay. I was just asking what everyone would be the best way to pair them up. I did not mean I was putting them in the same cage now but plan to later. Have to make sure these guys are okay then maybe put there in the same cage so they get to know each other then breed after that (when there older). Right now I have lovebirds and parrotlets in all my breeding cages have to wait until after there done or i would have to get a new cage to even breed them, I don't even have a cage I think I could put there together in with fly room. August 26, 200816 yr Hello. You have some very nice budgies. I agree with the others when they say they look to young. None of them are showing white iris rings. Good luck with everything.
August 26, 200816 yr okay thank you and Neat sayed that she is a mauve or violet Opaline Spangle Hen.Your saying just Spangle so is it mauve or violet what do you think? Thank You I'm not sure whether her base colour is mauve or cobalt but I think it's cobalt, the violet is an added shade. So she is either Spangle Mauve Violet or Spangle Cobalt Violet. Having no opaline will make a slight difference to the chick predictions I made in my earlier post

August 26, 200816 yr Yellow Face type 2 Cobalt Greywing (you can not see it in this pictuer) this bird is also a male so not at all helpful to pair to your new male. Edited August 26, 200816 yr by Nerwen
August 26, 200816 yr Author Yellow Face type 2 Cobalt Greywing (you can not see it in this pictuer)this bird is also a male so not at all helpful to pair to your new male.I was going to pair it the the new female . The new male have the SkyBlue Cinnamon Wing. Sorry My bad I put the on male with the male . So the female can go with the Yellow Face type 2 Cobalt Greywing or the Sky Blue Greywing. So I was thinking the new male well breed with the SkyBlue Cinnamon Wing. And the new female to the Cobalt Greywing. I dont know why but i'm thinking the new female would be better with the Cobalt Greywing over the Sky Blue Greywing. When to you guys think they would be breeding age? Thanks again This one looks type one to meKAZ a yellow type 2 has yellow going through its body/wings right? It dose not show up in the pictures but he dose have yellow in him. I dont know why it well not show up in the picture but if you sould come look at him you would see it really fast. Maybe if I did a video over picture the yellow well show up? I think thats what it means if I remember right.
