Posted August 25, 200816 yr I was looking for a budgie picture when I came across this one on google http://ocw.tufts.edu/Content/5/lecturenotes/215763 It's a horrific case of scaly face. How on earth could the bird still be alive? Wouldn't it be impossible for him to eat with such a severely deformed beak?
August 25, 200816 yr neglect or having a few hundred birds and not catching it quick enough, I am sure there are many reasons, it is very sad nethertheless.
August 25, 200816 yr As Elly said, mostly it’s neglect, some lack of knowledge may be present, but normal logic should suggest to someone that something is wrong before it gets to such an advance stage. It must take some years for the condition to get as bad as in that picture & what is so sad is that it is so easily cured.
August 26, 200816 yr it's really sad how some neglect their pets I wonder how it continued to eat for all that time

August 26, 200816 yr Author it's really sad how some neglect their pets I wonder how it continued to eat for all that time Other budgies would have fed it. Really? That's amazing. They really are the most incredibly social creatures.
August 26, 200816 yr It is a terrible thing to see - There are soo many pics on google with scley face that has been left to long without treatment - I hate looking at them as it makes me soooo made to think that a pet owner or Breeder would do this to their animals ... ( When i say do this I mean do it - it is their fault that it wasn't treated and neglected ) .. GRRRRRR
