Hi all was wondering is it possible to make our own Egg & Biscuit Mix for our birds and what quanities would we use if it is possible would like some help please ...and how often we can feed them with it as well ? John & Swanacilli

Not sure...

the manufactured stuff is made from, egg powder, glucose, crushed biscuits, breadcrumbs, maw seed, vitamins and calcium.

Perhaps you could mix freshly cooked mashed eggs with moist whole grain bread and some avi-cal (calcium supplement)

When I make it -

I use 2 eggs ( that has been mirco scrambled :D )

sometimes I include the shell that has been baked in the oven and grounded to dust. If i remember :hap:

I put in one weetbix ( the kids one as it has added calcium and etc ) I slice of brown bread.

I blend that all up together and it feeds all my birds ( 9 ) I remove it after 2 hours

When i make mine i get a hard boiled egg, bread crumbs, bird seed, and my birds favourite veggies.

You microwaves the egg shell for about 2 mins and smash that into a fine powder. You add that to mashed hard boiled egg. Sprinkle some bread crumbs over the top just enough to spread right through the mix. Add a tablespoon or two of the budgies seed mix and then mix some finely chopped veggies in as well and stir it all together.
