August 24, 200816 yr Author Awesome Daz, I wanted to keep to 2 breeders for that reason and was second guessing my self .. But you have reassured me .... I am looking for a Cinny Hen Either Green/Blue or Grey Cinny ... What do you think ???? The Dom Pied has width on him ( may not show in Photos) but he is still young so I am hoping that after his molt that there will be more up top :budgiedance: The Violet one has a nice little cap and a nice tucked in beak :budgiedance: and a okay in length Mask What should I look for when getting the Hen ,
August 24, 200816 yr If the cock has shoulder the hen should have length. (visa Versa) If the cock has a deep mask the hen should have good spots. What the cock hasn't got the hen must have. As the cock is a Spangle you should go to a spangle or a normal bred from a spangle. To breed spangles. If you want a dominant pied, remember that you could get a spangle dominant pied as both are dominant. But this is only 25% (therory)
August 24, 200816 yr Author FANTASTIC! I know that those Photo's aren't the best. But Can you or anyone else let me know if for my first I picked GOOD! I haven't decided what a want to "Breed" Yet. I just want to get the Sizes, Feather and Heads to a Good if not Great Quality first. Then I will pick a few varieties that i would like to breed and Show - I think that I would like to go out and get alot of experience first up. As the Mini Club show was so informative- I asked the judges if i could sit in with them I am hoping that I am going the right way about things I know for sure that I am not rushing into things and that I am researching and taking my time But i know it is for the best

August 24, 200816 yr Awesome!!!!! I just need to be reassured some times ... We all do.....recognition for good deeds done is often what makes us "purr"
August 24, 200816 yr Neat, at the shows ask to be a steward. Tell them it's your first time and they will put you with someone experienced. This way you can be in the action and talk to the judges as to what they like and dislike. It will help you understand and to "Get your eye in". What look good to you now will look different in time. This comes with experience.
August 24, 200816 yr Lovely birds Neat, well done And it begins.................. lol Seems quite a few of us are at this stage right now
