Eucalyptus Branches

Featured Replies

I have seen photos of Eucalyptus branches with leaves hung in cages, is this for the birds to eat, play with or just to rip up?

Obviously its safe....

Hi Aaron,

All of the above, In fact it is really good for them.

It's very VERY good for them. It is a form of entertainment, but most importantly the wood, bark and leaves contain vital nutritional elements that no other food can give. They should have access to fresh branches every day :hap:

Thanks Guys, Branches in the cage now... he has already started to tear at them! :hap:

GREAT!!! He'll love you for it. Just remember to hose/wash them down before putting them in as this removes any nasties etc...

Good point there Maes ...

They also like the bottle brushes

Thanks I am making sure of that.... I also am going to try some of the seeded grasses coming up in some of the parks close by... long stem with brown seed, I remember my Grandmother feeding it to her birds and they seemed to love it! :)

Watch out as they spray for weeds in parks.
