Posted August 17, 200816 yr We have bought 2 gouldian finches and were going to put them in with the canaries, society finches and zebra finches, but when I was researching the gouldians one site said that they can't go in with zebra finches. Does anyone have gouldians and do they have them in an avairy with any other birds??
August 17, 200816 yr I know Kaz has gouldians, and i'm pretty sure they live in a community aviary with other birds, but i'd imagine it's HUGE... Might have to wait for her to come on and give you some advice
August 18, 200816 yr We have gouldians and they are in my husbands aviary ( 10 metres by 3 metres by 2 and a half high ) They are in with his parrots, finches and canaries. No Zebras. I dont see any problems BUT I have heard Zebras breed like flies and take over any nesting spots and maybe that why the advice you have recieved.
August 18, 200816 yr Author Thanks Kaz, the zebras we have were only supposed to be here for a short time while their owners moved - 8 months ago. Maybe time to chase them up again I think. So would it be okay to put the Gouldians in with just the Canaries in a 4m x 2m avairy? We only have 2 pair of canaries and the one pair of gouldians at this stage.
August 18, 200816 yr I have too heard things about mixed certain species of finches... but can't remember what it was. Sorry . Good luck with them!
