Posted August 16, 200816 yr This is my aviary that my dad built in about 4 days. It has a large aviary for my budgies when you walk in the left and to the right is my cockatiel aviary. I also have a little breeding cage right in front when you walk in. I will try to get some better pics later.

August 17, 200816 yr Your dad has built a very cool aviary! he is very clever. Your nesting boxes should be level and sturdy. If they move around and are on an angle the eggs can get killed and the chicks can get splayed legs etc. Otherwise everything looks brilliant!!
August 19, 200816 yr Looks great! I have a cockatiel called Sephira too! And I had a budgie called Eragon! SPOOKY!

August 20, 200816 yr Your aviary is fantastic and your Dad needs a big pat on the back and lots of hugs for doing that for you. My only suggestions as they have already been brought up ...is make the nestboxes more stable. Screw them into the wooden struts ...definitely redo the one you have string on holding it up as the birds will chew through the string and it will all fall down. Try and keep nestboxes level so eggs dont roll around and roll into the side crevice.....try and make them very stable so they dont wobble about when birds come and go from them. Congratulations on the aviary
August 21, 200816 yr Author Yes I will do that with the nesting boxes Thanks for your concern and thanks for the lovely comment
August 21, 200816 yr Congratulations Brittany on your new aviary set up! Whatever you do, make sure it is mouse proof. Perhaps put some concrete around the base to stop them burrowing in?
