Well, i started the day by getting up at quarter to 8 realising that today was the day i had to get my bottom breaces on my teeth at 8:30 (i already have my top braces), i got there, the lady ogt my teeth all ready for my orthodontist and left me waiting with my mouth being held open for 20 minutes until my orthodontist finally shows up to do 5 minutes work and then saying okay all done Greeaatt! (sarcasm) , then i walk out of the place and dicsover when talking to my mum that i have a lisp!!!

 

then the day got a little better by me able to finally get a speaker dock for my iPod after weeks of research and saving, that was good.

 

Then we went home and i took Bing up to my room for a training session on getting him to come to me on command and that as going well, he almost comes on command unless it's just pot luck that he comes every time i say Bing come and enticing him with his ball

 

By then my teeth are hurting quite abit and i asked my mum if i could has some pasta bolognese for dinner as its easy on my teeth, she got some out of the freezer from acouple of weeks ago and she leaves to go to a performance and leaves it out for me, i go to heat it up and its beef curry, and the pasta was undercooked so it was very hard, although it tasted very nice

 

anyway i just had to tell someone and tonight is going to be a sleepless night for me as my teeth are going to keep me up all night!

Sorry you've had a yukky day Andrew. I have 2 boys that need top and bottom braces but still waiting for their last baby teeth to fall out, longer for me to save

Hope they don't hurt you for long, but then it'll be the same when you have to have them tightened again.

 

Just try and think of the finished product - beautiful teeth (i know that's not much comfort now)

Oh Andrew i feel for you mate, I was 15 when i got my braces get some strong pain killers and go to sleep as tomorrow they will be worse .... Sorry it has been a sucky day

Sorry about your bad day Andrew. Both my sisters had braces and I remember when they got them and when they had them tightened they were alway grumpy! I hope you manage to get some sleep... maybe a hot pack or cold pack might help??? Not sure.

You can rinse some Aspro clear around in your mouth to help with the pain, it soaks directly into your gums, then swallow it for continued effect

I remember braces and I remember how much my mouth hurted too , Motrin is what is best for teeth/mouth pain my dentist said, my son recently had a root canal and was in a lot of nerve pain for a couple days and Motrin helped out along with rotating it with Tylenol.

Make your own clove oil mouthrinse by soaking some cloves in hot water like a tea for about 10 mins, then add cold water to cool it down. Clove oil is really good for temporary soothing of dental pain.

I remember the pain of moving teeth in braces too. Not fun but worth it in the end :hap:

there still hurting but not as much as they did several days ago, i spent almost 2 hours the other night trying to eat spaghetti carbonara and it had gone cold while i was half way through it >

 

hopefully i'll get there as ive been living off jellies and banana's for days

Hi Andrew I can definately relate, when I was 17 I got my top and bottom braces, then after nearly 3 years of brace wearing, plate wearing, and having my 3 wisdom teeth removed I also had my lower jaw shortened. "FUN NOT". I feak people out by letting them feel the head of the screws by touching my jaw where my bottom jaw joins my top jaw (touching my jaw line just back from my chin from the outside).

But 20 years later and my teeth are still as beautiful as the day I finally got crossed off the Royal Dental Hospital's current patient list. It is all worth it although you probably don't feel like that just at the moment.
