Posted August 16, 200816 yr Hello everybody I have been concerned about Coco's droppings for a while now. When I bought him in January, and for the next couple of months they were very dark green, normal looking perfect little round poops. They now look like this most of the time: Fresh His night time collection from last night I saw an avian vet a couple of weeks ago, who didn't really seem bothered by them. I took these pictures this morning. Last night I fed Coco fresh spinach for the first time because in the past week has finally decided to eat vegetables, and his poops this afternoon are much darker than the olive colour in these pictures, do you think this is from the spinach? I would really appreciate peoples opinions about whether these are normal or not. Thank you
August 16, 200816 yr Yeah i totally agree with liv. I think they're normal if they were certain colours you should be worried, if they're red or something, but they are quite normal. If he was my bird i wouldn't be worried with him. regards joel Edited August 16, 200816 yr by maesie please take time to check your posts. This has been edited for spelling and grammer
August 16, 200816 yr Yeah I agree they are fine, if your birds poo is watery or long in shape then you should be alerted But yep Normal to me ... You will find too because you feed spinich it iwll change again

August 17, 200816 yr Author Thanks everybody for your replies, that is really good to hear I didn't realise the title Coco's Poops, how funny - sorry for those who love Coco Pops Elly, he only started to eat veggies last week. It has taken 8 months of throwing them away, but he has finally come around to eating carrots, broccoli and spinach. I have noticed today that his poops are looking so much better, lots darker so perhaps the veggies are improving them.
August 17, 200816 yr I find birds who are on an all seed diet tend to have smaller and dryer poops than those who eat their veggies. I am so happy he has finally discovered his veggies
August 17, 200816 yr I agree there with Liv, I found that with Pretty once he started eating the veggies there is more moister intake and the green can be from the leafy veggies he is eating, it is the very bright green or if the poos are sloppy wet that is a worry.
