Black Cere

I have a baby budgie who is 3 weeks old its cere and beak is totally black. It is in beautiful condition the mother is very careful with him. Can someone tell me what this means please? I have tried to take pictures but it wont show up.

No bid deal...just a lot of melanin. Fades away over a couple of weeks till back to normal. Some breeders keep the black beaked ones as they see it as a good sign.

Good sign??? Like fate or could it mean something good? It is alot bigger than any baby i have had before?

Most of my chicks have had black beaks when young. I didn't know what it was when I seen the first one either ;)

Nothing to worry about. Most my young have black beaks.

A top breeder in the UK keeps all his babies with black beaks as he sees it as a positive sign of the birds future potential.

My better birds from one line have black beak/cere; mostly males. The whole clutch from this line are black this time round- fingers crossed then hey!

You'll find some lines are known for it and some dont

Yes they say the black ones are the best ones so as others have said "be happy don't worry".
