okay.

 

So I am going to give the shows a go... We all know that :huh:

 

However, I am a person that hates the Norm ( not you Norm :) just the everday Normal way of things )

 

So I have decided that I will have SHOW NAMES for my show budgies :D :D :hap:

 

Like the horses they have pet names and then they have their Show Names,

 

So that is what I am going to do :D

don't let that put you off neat I think it would help the show ring not hamper it so i am happy to support the show names for Budgies movement! ;)

Wont help at all in the "show ring" as you put it. The idea at a budgie show is the bird is anonymous so it is judged fairly.

BUT a lot of top breeders have special names for their best budgies...they just do not say so in show budgie circles at shows. :D

i like your attitude you go carried away is what life is about its jumping over board you have to watch out for ....lol you could decoupage the cages with your best shots of that particulur bird

Go for it Neat. I have a few of my best birds named that I know will be staying here for ever. :)

I did know a breeder years ago who used to use a racehorse system to name his birds - an easy way for him to recall the bloodlines without always having to look them up. Don't quite remember how it worked: I think it had something to do with his breeding birds all having names which started with different letters of the alphabet, and the chicks also being given names starting with the same letter of the alphabet. Maybe it was just through the cock bird's side. If the father was "Rocky" the chicks might be named Raphael, Rodney, Reuben etc. Somebody else might know how this system works. Jaz
