Hi.

The birds are going pretty good. I am unsure whether the babies have pbfd or not. They all have dirty vents, constalty (same as the first pbfd sufferers), their flights are crossed, they are ocasionally uneasy on their feet. But they can fly, where as the others never could. So I'm holding hope that they do not have pbfd.

How old are the babies you buy? I usually buy 1 - 2 years old hens and 1-3 year old cocks, no younger. After quarantine I usually breed them if they are ready.

3 new pairs will be placed in breeding cages tomorow. Pictures to follow. I'm currently insulating and fixing up an old garden shed. I am planning to breed finches or canaries or possible some other bird, aswell as budgies of course.

Hi.

If a pair has one clutch and the chicks are full weaned and released, how many weeks should I wait for them to lay another clutch? It has been 2 weeks so far so maybe they need a break isntead of laying another clutch?

Hi.

I will do an update.

Pair one, yf skyblue x cobalt cock.

1 egg was laid today, she has not started incubating yet but this is normal. She is a good mother and he is a good father so all will be good. This will be their second and last clutch for the year.

pair 2, pet pair.

6 eggs to this pair. They are very wild birds and dislike humans. She incubates her eggs very well, and all look very white. So hopefully they are fertile.

pair 3, pet pair.

7 eggs to this pair. Same as above pair, except only 3 eggs are showing fertile.

pair 4. Grey green show pair.

Hen and cock both show interest in nest box, wont be long now.

Pair 5.

The lacewing that we are all confused about. She still has the green feathers after many washes so I have determined she is a lacewing with suffusion. Breeding will prove it. Shown no interest in the nest box so far, its still early days.

thank you for the update ^_^, look forward to watching them progress
