:D Just wondering whether anyone may be able to help me know what I may expect? I have paired up a Voilet Opaline cock with a 4 y.o. Henry George albino hen who has apparently been bred, who I brought at a auction a couple of weeks ago. I know there's no guarantee that the hen will still be fertile but that why I wasting no time with giving her a go. Her cere is nicely browned and plump and has no pinn feather (not moulting).

So fingers crossed. So if anyone can help with possible expectations that would be great!! :D

Violet Opaline Cock x Albino Hen

Hens will be opaline

100% blue chicks

If double factor Violet you will have a 100% of Single Factor Violets

If single factor Violet you will have a 50% of Single Factor Violets

male chicks will be split for albino but will not express the gene

the only way you will have albino chicks is if the male is split for ino

Of course there are always surprises too with sex-linked genes that the cock could be carrying and any recessive genes that both birds are carrying.

I am so grateful that you guys take the the time to help us beginners out, it makes having and breeding budgies a wonderful experience.

by the way Elly sorry I didn't get back to you (for me last night for you this morning) but I had my boys who had fallen asleep watching the Olypmic opening and had to get them into bed and then a husband needing my help. Thanks Neats I haven't put the breeding box on the cage as yet but they have been together for about a week now so probably over the weekend I will attach it and see what happens :D Thanks Carolyn alias: Budgielover13

Your very welcome :D, evening now for me
