Posted August 7, 200816 yr I have a baby budgie that was an "only child" and it is now 6 weeks old and reluctant to leave the nest box it comes out every now and then and sits on the bottom in the corner. My question is should i remove it and put it in a seperate cage? I am trying to handtame it. It is eating by itself but also being fed by the parents aswell.

August 7, 200816 yr I have a clutch of 4 babies just recently fledged and the 3rd "child" often sits in a corner and "yells" at me whenever I come into the room. It seems more insecure than the others. The youngest is more adept at flying around and perching and yet it is bigger and I would think stronger. I guess budgies just have personalities like we do, some are more reserved or shy than others.
