Showing A Tame Budgie?

Featured Replies

I was just sitting here pondering.......I have a little pet budgie in a cage that I take to work and have near me and handle as much as possible as he will be going to a family soon as a tame pet budgie. What I was wondering is, if a show budgie was bred and tamed as a pet, and it developed and happened to grow into a ripper of a budgie, could you take it along to be shown? I couldnt think of why not,but I was just wondering what others might think ;)

Yes, of course ;) All a show budgie has to do is perch nicely at the right time for the judging, and be a rung bird.

Does this help at all...................

Ist in blue normals at the Nationals and Mr Bob Smiths bird........as tame a show budgie as you would get...and a very special relationship between owner and bird.

Oh wow, thats fabulous. Thanks for that Kaz!! ;):o

(Not that I am planning on doing this, I dont have indoor budgies cause my parrots chew their feet if they land on their cage........but who knows what will happen with me and "someone" who could possibly steal my heart haha)

Here he is again ....a lovely boy. He flew down to the floor while photos were being taken and Mr Smith just put out his finger and he stepped up onto it and then sat on his shoulder for the rest of the photo shoot ;)

Yeah.....he was a darling bird :P and well under a year old too. :D

Oh wow ....

Now this may be a very stupid question - How can it see when it is buffed????

* I am please that a BLUE can win shows

Everything can win shows

There's all different categories

Personally I am planning on handling all my show babies. I think it is better for them to be quite tame as it means they should be calmer in the show cage and more likely to relax and fluff their heads up and look pretty for the judges :D

Me too MB - Me too ....

I want that Blow in Full flight LMAO :D
