I am looking to breed some show type chicks and some pretty colourful pet type chicks.

Please pair up the photos with the birds you feel would be best suited to each other :D

Any advice and input is greatly appreciated as i am hopeless with genetics and out comes etc :D

added another male

Hi.

I dont know much at all about genetics but you have very nice birds. I love the YF2 Dominant pied, I have never seen one like him before.

Sorry I couldnt help.

I love that DF spangle hen, I'd put her to the spangle male personally but I have no real reason for that than that I love normal and DF spangles :D

No advice from me either, but good luck with your breeding :D

Recessive ?????? Are you sure about that ??

Look DF dom pied to me :D

Also the violet male looks opaline to me? Hard to tell though without a wing shot

If you breed, the Opalines to the Cinny's you will get inproved feather Quality.

Becarful with the cinny's though cause if you breed DF cinnys to cinnys this is where the Flecking starts to be produced :D

oooo Whose been doing research LOL

I thought that too. The yellow hen looks df too?

Id put the sky opaline male at the top with your yf grey hen

Grey spangle over cin green hen

Cin grey cock over df spangle hen.

Yes you are right, I made the mistake of calling him normal for some reason - he IS opaline :)

Thanks Neat!! I am so worried about this group as most birds are new and I don't know their parenting history *gulp*

The pet types will have two rolls... creating pretty chicks AND fostering any from dodge parents.

They all look great Liv i think you have paired them off well hoping you have some very good results and healthy babies ..........John & Swanacilli

Nerwen, Is DF gey DEEP DARK GREY!!!!

really??? Hmmm I like the sound of dark grey :P So i might keep the two greys together as they would produce YF DF greys....?????

Sounds pretty good to me! :P

Your guess is probably better than mine at this point, but Im getting there! lol

Nerwen, Is DF gey DEEP DARK GREY!!!!

Nope. the darkness of the bird depends on the dark factors. these birds look either light grey (no dark factors) or normal grey (one dark factor) for your dark grey you would want to look at using olives/mauves and grey. Violet gene would help as well as it is an adding factor that deepens the colour of the feathers.
