I think green spangel, but I'm new to the colours

He looks like a green opaline spangle to me  . Is he really not an opaline?

His yellow is beautiful - so bright !!!

Green Spangle, the colour is juts issues with poor markings. also known as opalance. In the first picture the cheek spots where the key to look at, they were a mix of blue and white which is a spangle trait where as clearwings have full cheek spots.

Ahhhh I will mark that down, However it is a Spangle trait or could be a spangle trait as Mac has this on cheek spot is white the other one is white and blue? He is pied, No spangle Family history in there ...

okay so he is a green spangle thanks for that guys, do you think i should pair him with my albino female? what colours do you think the chicks will be?

I agree with the others it’s a Green Spangle. As to what chicks paired to an Albino. Albino makes it difficult, as we don’t know what she is masking. If the spangle is split for Blue you could get both Green & Blue birds, if he is not split for Blue all Green chicks something like half will be Spangles. Anything else it’s impossible to say.

yes it is a light green spangle & i wouldnt pair him with your albino because he is a green series colour & the albino is a blue series bird & it is also a ino i wouldnt pair him with a albino because the colours whould be more then likely non standard colours & its hard to say what colours you could get out of a pair it all depends on the birds parents.

regards Joel :D

okay - So new question re: this topic - Don't spangle have black markings????? Unless dilute?

Your right Neat like that nice young chick of yours, but they are not all so good, it’s just a show fault…there’s lots of variation, some almost no markings some light others good strong Black markings. Also some have the Blue replace the Black in their markings another show fault. Could also be split for Opaline.

Ahhhhh - okay. Who came up with all these mutations, THey are making it soo hard for me to get it (understand)LOL!!!

Yes neat it is a spangle Trait but other mutations can have the mixed cheek spots as well (pieds). I was stating in this instance it as a key to determine clearwing or spangle.

I look forward to hearing what you all think

Now i am pretty sure the first one IS an opaline spangle. The other one is an opaline greywing ????
