Posted July 27, 200816 yr Hi Im James. I presented a new topic because my budgi is sick. She looks constantly sleepy and her bottom is dirty. Please tell me what to do. James
July 27, 200816 yr James I notice you live in Guatamala so I was just wondering what sort of access you have to avian(bird) vets around you? Ideally she should see a vet as she will probably need antibiotics. In the meantime put a warm light(with a 20 watt globe) above her cage so she can stay warm, put it near one corner of the cage so she can move away from it if she gets too warm.
July 27, 200816 yr You will need to remove her from the breeding setting you had her in and keep her isolated and set up a hospital cage as MB suggested and get her to an Avian Vet ASAP.
July 27, 200816 yr I agree with the vet treatment. Also as MB said, Warm light. Other than that, there is not a lot more we can tell you without more information and/or pictures. A poopy bum and sleepy fluffed look is the symptoms of almost every budgie sickness. A vet will be able to test the poo, listen to its heart and chest, take blood samples, check the crop and many many other things. I hope you find out what is wrong with her.
