Thankyou Some breeders look after us Novices and this gentleman is one of the best. His birds are at Nationals level and he does very well.
July 27, 200816 yr Author Can you show birds you buy and not breed yourself? Either way nice bird! Yes....as a novice and over here in W.A. you can. That way you get to know what the judges are looking for in a bird and you learn by it.

July 27, 200816 yr Your lucky Kaz wish I had a breeder like that here…only one National breeder near here that I know & unless you have a few thousand to spare he doesn’t want to know you. I rang him once & even on the phone you could tell he didn’t want to be bothered by you. Takes all types I guess.

AND I am a novice so just starting out. IN your other post you talk of breeding some excellent birds to show next year. I'd love to see what you have got to show us....have you any pictures ? August 13, 200816 yr Author Whilst in the holding cages a lot of the boys are so raring to go and breed with the hens, that life and death fights had broken out. Cock on top of cock rolling around the bottoms of the cage over a hen. So I seperated all the hens from the cocks. Thats worked fine until today when I need some of the holding cages, and had to put some hens back in with the boys. Those boys are so desperate to breed...there they were again rolling wround the cage floor fighting over the hens, like a boys brawl. Nothing as far as blood drawn thank goodness. They were fine once I had more hens in there and the ratio was better. Within seconds there was pairs in the cage devoted to each other. Looks like I need to put more pairs down to breed from this batch :hap: (**Makes note...need to buy more wire breeding cages and make more melamine units **)
