Posted July 22, 200816 yr What colours do i need to breed cobalts? would a normal blue to violet give me 1?
July 22, 200816 yr A sky blue to a visual violet (which is on a cobalt base) could give you cobalt chicks. I have a skyblue cock and violet(cobalt) hen together at the moment, last clutch they had a violet baby and a skyblue baby
July 22, 200816 yr I am sure that you will get at least one out of the clutch, as Violet is a color adder - I paired a sky blue to a grey and got a cobalt
July 22, 200816 yr Author i have seen the dark cobalts on the net but cant find any locally to buy. i have a violet blue and a single factor blue would that work?
July 22, 200816 yr Is your violet a true violet? True visual violet occurs on a cobalt base so if your bird is a violet then you do have a cobalt
July 22, 200816 yr Violet is an added color to all the different colors. To get a cobalt your bird will need to have at least 1 dark factor. So example if you bred 2 sky blues you would only get sky blue but if you bred a sky blue with a cobalt you could get a cobalt. To enhance the color you would add in the violet factor.
July 23, 200816 yr You have cobalt to a cobalt with the violet adding factor. you can get cobalts, mauves, visual violets and mauve violets.
