My Four New Birds

Featured Replies

These are the four new birds:

Hugo and Hilda:

They paired up when I put them in the quarantine cage so I decided to take a punt and give them a box.

Fatso and Cinderella:

They will get a nest box once fatso has lost enough weight

Nice birds... but Fatso is the fattest budgie I've ever seen! Poor fello :D . I hope his diet and exercise regime helps him out.

He's such a funny little guy, but you can actually feel the fat on him which is very sad :D He' so fat he's broken all his tail feathers hitting the deck trying to fly. They are definately there, I checked before I agreed to take him but they are all broken off near the base. I'm wondering whether I should pull the stumps out so that he grows new ones quicker but being primary feathers I imagine it would hurt him so I'm a Little iffy about doing it.

I LOVE FATSO ... He's awesome. He's the Fatty Arbuckle of Budgies. He is more then a pudgie budgie ! He is BLOTTO ... I'm sure he will thin out in time. A few less perches in the cage & make him jump & manouver around a bit will slim him down.

They are nice looking birds,Fasto reminds me of a Boo-Bah[kids cartoon].

I like Hugo & Hilda best…Fatso will loose a bit of weight if he has a big batch of chicks to feed.

Yes, Boo-bah!!! exactly what he reminds me of! God I love that show, it's soo cute with all it's pretty colours :D

Should call him ziggy-ziggy-bah!

Well when he does loose his weight he won't be fat any more so he does need a real name. I've never heard of this cartoon, pictures needed please :D

Do you reckon Fatso will be able to 'do the deed' in his current condition Norm?

You can only try it, you can never be sure of anything, if his eggs turn out infertile if you can give them some fosters to feed it should work the same.
