Fingers crossed. Lots to go wrong in the world of budgie breeding.

Kaz,

Yeah your right lots can go wrong but with 10 eggs 1 gotta be a National Show Winner for sure. :)

:) we live in hope :(

Yes Kaz as you say lots can go wrong between laying & hatching, mostly I wait & once they have something like 5 hatched, I will either take some of the older ones away or the youngest ones depending of what batches I have to foster to.

Me too Norm :D Thats the plan as I have no definite trustworthy fosters for the eggs right now :)

No problems with the ten eggs. The Dad is in the box helping to incubate the eggs with her ;)

Can't be long until the first should be hatching now, should have taken 16 days to lay 9 eggies?

Budgie show on the weekend...interclub challenge. Now what do you do when you are a member of all three clubs :D

I did ask that before- it seems to confuse all as I got no answer.

Do you go for the underdogs and try to give then a boost or the favourites and join in the celebrations!!

Maybe eeni meeni minee mo and divide your birds equally between them LOL

You can enter mine in the MBC section to make it easier!! LOL

The breeder of the hen has offered me a dominant pied hen she thinks is too good to cull but she has moved onto younger birds. The dom pied hen is 3 yrs old and she should be fine for another clutch or two before retirement. Cost ? $10 for the new hen.

Another chick today makes three. The hen has hatched a chick a day for the past three days. All chicks well and fed and active :(
