Another one of the "cold" eggs has hatched in a foster nest. Making 8 out of 12 eggs for Omelette and Stud. Three eggs damaged........one more to hatch IF it is going to.

That's great that the cold eggs are hatching, so good to hear things can still turn out okay even when you think there's no hope. And how about Frostie, Nippy or Shiver for the other cold eggs that hatch.

 

I love reading and catching up on this post, there's always something exciting happening, well when there's 12 eggs and lots of foster parents how can there not be! :yes:

Another hatching from Omelettes cold eggs...........9 chicks now.

Eldest chick just found dead in the nestbox. Large healthy chick earlier in the day. Full crop just now but dead. I felt a hard lump in the lower intestine. Seems to have had an obstruction.

so sorry to hear this Kaz, know each loss is personal to you hugs.

So we ended up with 8 chicks from the 12 eggs of Omelette and Stud..... 9 actually but the eldest died.

 

Here are three of theirs with two fosters.

 

Hidden chick is an opaline.

 

Here is another three of their chicks in Vinnie and Sootica's nestbox ...three with one of Vinnie and Sootica's and two extra fosters as well.

Hi Kaz, Sorry to hear the eldest didn't make it , but love the photos, I can't believe how fluffy some of the chicks get the one over the back in this photo just looks like he's a mutant cotton wool ball with head and wings attached! Awwe so cute :bump: .

They are so cute and there is so many.

The last two greys are foster babies. Their parents didnt feed them properly and they nearly died. They both had weak legs and feet and the youngest still has weak feet which we are trying to improve with extra calcium. Egg powder has helped them bounce back too.

Chicks are looking awesome, the last 2 pictures are so cute.
