Oh my golly golly gosh Kaz, they are some spectacular babies, I can only hope that one day soon I will be able to breed birds to the same standards as yours.

These really are my first babies of this standard, so I too, am just starting out.

The hen from this pairing has been in the nest a lot the past 2-3 days. Today she laid her first egg of round two....a decent sized egg. Two chicks still in the nest but she is okay about them being there.

All chicks have been removed to the breeder cage floor in their icecream tub. Some are eating on their own

This one SPUNKY 06274d98.jpg ate so many carrots today it was perching by bedtime...must be all those vitamins.

The adopted DF spangle sooks in the corner. The biggest green one gets around the cage like a prize fighter...reminds me of that cartoon rooster Foghorn Leghorn :D

Third chick ( green ) is looking cute and has a sweet nature, youngest sibling in the foster nest is developing a lot of feather on top of its head.

What a cutie....hmm a contest maybe? The "messest face contest" have to tell Neat ;)

I understand the sooking in the corner. Must be tough when you are surrounded by such beautiful birds that you realise you are not in the looks competition. Not sooking, self confidence issues - LOL!!

Foghorn is a great name for a bird kaz. I always prefer personality names.

Is the fostered chick , the youngest green, an opaline?

 FOGHORN suits that one ;)

The youngest is an opaline green ...Yes :)

Messy face coming :D yes for sure !!!!

Kaz I have noticed that they are all black beaked! Can really see why but their coloring in their feathers -

and if it is true that they show black for good genes as well - this could be it ;):D:D

They are looking nice and nicer each time i see those picture

Fingers crossed Neat. Will put a couple of them in the unbroken cap show ( nestfeathers ) on the 4th if they can perch ( two are already ).....just to see how they stack up against others. All babies eating on their own except for SOOK the adopted DF Yellow Spangle.

Their mother has two eggs and dad is spending all the time in the nestbox with her just like last time. :D

OOOOO Good luck mate!!!!!

I am sure that you will will that little one is stunning!!!
