Posted July 20, 200816 yr hey, i put Bing on the floor today and started trying to get him to walk over to me, i say to him "Bing, come here" and i tap the ground where i want him to go but he doesnt do it very well, he virtually just chases his ball or goes off and chews the newspaper on the ground, does anyone have any tips on how to get him to come to me on command, i hope that once i have this down i will be able to get him to fly to me
July 20, 200816 yr Try doing what you are doing, but if he loves his ball or even millet, have that in your hand also... he might come for them, and in time, you should be able to just call him
July 20, 200816 yr The best way to teach a bird to come on command is the same way you would teach a dog you can also use small distance. Example, for Merlin and I I would only have my finger about an inch way and he would step up and I would click Merlin and he would fly to me, when he got that point we went further and further now he will do at least a 3 foot distance and fly to me by me clicking but every time he comes to you reward him with millet that is what I did. Now I don't even need millet he just comes.
