Sorry guys i edited it twice in photobucket it just doesnt want to shrink???? Can anyone fix it for me please? Edited July 19, 200816 yr by **Liv** fixed image link
July 19, 200816 yr the last two are ywllow face type 2. they might be violets as they seem to keep a more blue belly area... in fact i'm willing to say the last boy is violet. the first is cobalt opaline. can't say age very well all are past the first moult but 8 months to over a year is likely.
July 19, 200816 yr *I feel a disturbance in the force, seems a fellow just put his foot in it* HeHe i just had to find a comment for the last picture
July 19, 200816 yr Author Hey stop picking on my birds! Haha thats okay they do seem to look 'SPECIAL' in these photos with the last green/violet i have him paired with a grey and there babies seem to all be green so far so how does the violet come into it???

July 20, 200816 yr Hey stop picking on my birds! Haha thats okay they do seem to look 'SPECIAL' in these photos with the last green/violet i have him paired with a grey and there babies seem to all be green so far so how does the violet come into it??? Shouldnt be greeen if they are the parents. Have you got a green male in the aviary? He is a YF2 violet (same as one of mine) it works the same as a blue series bird, its only the yellowface bleeding down making him turn green
July 20, 200816 yr The Pie is correct, you should have no green babies from them, are you just seeing the yellow fethers on the head and thinking they are going to be green? With them you would get a mix of YF blue, YF violets, YF greys, blues, violets and greys.
July 20, 200816 yr Author REALLY???????????? I have had these two in cabinets for around 8 weeks so they are definantly the parents??? They are showing yellow face but the wings had hints of yellow on them which have now turned to a green it is not that visible yet so when it comes out stronger i will put up some pictures up. That is really weird though because they are definantly the parents and the babies are really showing signs of being green is there any other posability?
July 20, 200816 yr Author pictures would really help, how old are the chicks? i have taken photos but the colours dont show up. I will wait a few days for the colour to be stronger. I think if anything they will be like the dad and be yf green and purple because i think i can see some blue or purple coming through on ones legs? They are around 2 weeks old.
July 20, 200816 yr here is a young YF coblat baby around the 2 weeks mark. Is this the same look? you can hardly see the yellow on tbe wings it is a faint cream in real life.
July 20, 200816 yr Author here is a young YF coblat baby around the 2 weeks mark. Is this the same look? you can hardly see the yellow on tbe wings it is a faint cream in real life. No mine have green on the ends of their wings i will go and take some pics and hope they turn out a bi better than last time i cant seem to get my photos to work they are either too dark or too bright??any tips?
July 20, 200816 yr the best way to take pictures to show the accurate coloring is put the bird in the daylight or sun and then snap a picture with out a flash.
July 20, 200816 yr Author okay they are making me a liar! I just went and checked on them and the green has faded to a cream colour??? I swear they were green yesterday??? One of them possibly two are not yellow faces they all seem to be getting blue around there legs so i might just get cobalts? So if he is a violet and she is normal grey which colour is the dominant one? Should i have more violets and mauves than greys or cobalts??? Here are the photos they are not the best. July 21, 200816 yr Id go with greygreen . ,if Parents are Green/violet to grey Edited July 21, 200816 yr by lonebudgie
July 21, 200816 yr Author Id go with greygreen . ,if Parents are Green/violet to grey Thats what i thought aswell, but now they are starting to get blue on there legs? Im really confused! i guess i will just have to wait until they fully feather up?
July 21, 200816 yr NO GREENS WHAT SO EVER! Please start calling the yellowface parent what it is - Yellowface violet (not green/violet) the green is only appearing on the chest becuase it is bleeding into the body which is what the type 2 does, Yes these young are yellowfaces. I know what you mean about the green you spoke of on the wings when the pin fethers are still closed up the yellow can look very greenish, only when they start to open do they look yellow. as to the colours your have an even chance of getting grey, violets or blues (would think cobalts but the mother as a grey might not have any dark factors) Edited July 21, 200816 yr by Nerwen
July 21, 200816 yr They arne't making you are liar Missylu My chicks at present 1 has now become a YF Thanks Nerwen :Das I was really confused too

So how strong is the yellow face would it be 100% ?
July 21, 200816 yr yellowface is dominant over the normal blue gene. it will not be 100% only 50% you could also get some YF greys as well from those parents. They arne't making you are liar Missylu My chicks at present 1 has now become a YF no they just like us to keep guessing until the very last moment.
