Thanks Liv. It looks like a yawn but actually George is a bit cross at Henrietta for getting too close. I think it is so cute. :P

They are lovely photos!! Oh, and you got a YAWN!!!!! :P

they are such a lovely pair, I just LOVE them.

Lovely pictures :P

PS might pay to clip off that odd flight feather as they can get caught when only one like that remains.

why is henrietta missing all but one flight feather, when they moult do they temporarily become unflighted?

when they have a really heavy molt sometimes they do, in fact I read an interesting fact that Canadian Geese molt so badly they they are flightless for a month that was interesting.

why is henrietta missing all but one flight feather, when they moult do they temporarily become unflighted?

To me it looks like Henrietta has her wings clipped so the long flight you see is just a new feather that has come though and hasn't been clipped to match the others yet. My Cookie looks the same at the moment - he needs a trim :D

Yes that's what has happened. Henrieta's wings were clipped a few months ago and it is just a new feather coming through. I will give her a trim. :D
