Posted July 14, 200817 yr First is this a hen or a cock. The cere was bright blue but has developed a brown tinge now I call him/her Mo, can you guess why New pairs: Oops whered they come from :rip:
July 14, 200817 yr One of my males has recently gone like that, bit dry and browny but its peeling off now. He likes to get up close and personal when I go in the aviary so easy to notice!! Love your Dom pied and rec pied nice colours. Others looking good too
July 14, 200817 yr Author So you think male then? Sigh, I was hoping I had been wring and it was a hen, I wanted to put it with the big grey guy. Ah well, I'll have to have a think about a nice hen for it then. The pieds paired up in the aviaryand he wasn't my choice for her but they looked so cute together
July 14, 200817 yr That has happened to Merlin too I think male too. I love this pair, very interested to see the outcomes
July 14, 200817 yr You have some beautiful pairs together, cannot wait to see the outcomes. i think the pieds are very pretty.
July 14, 200817 yr Author I gave them both a bikini wax so fingers crossed Elly :rip: Is it just me or do the show types always look angry Although he did show alot of interest in the hen in the next cage so I think I might have to move them into a different breeding cage with less distractions
July 14, 200817 yr I agree the longer feathers of the eyes gives them the grumpy look, Merlin has it too vs the bright and perky look like the pet type.
July 14, 200817 yr I agree the first bird is a male. Your pairs look great!! I hope they all work out
July 14, 200817 yr Author Aright well I'll do a switch and pick out a different mate for that one. Limitted in my choices for that one though so I might have to wait a bit.
July 14, 200817 yr I am taking all their babies! I know where you live! Edited July 14, 200817 yr by Angelic Vampyre
July 15, 200817 yr Author No, I bought him as a tufted. I want to put him with a really big hen as he is very tiny.
July 17, 200817 yr First this is a out of condition cock. There cere goes a blue brown when they are losing it. He almost looks like a tufted bird. Or his just having a bad hair day! New pairs, One dominate pied on the right one recessive on the left I really hope you can get some thing out of these two! It would be interesting!
July 17, 200817 yr Author He is a tufted TB, I thought he was cute I hope I get something out of them too TB, if they don't start showing some interest in each other soon though (instead of completely ignoring each other!) I might be nudging you for AI advice
