Posted July 12, 200817 yr I have rehomed Lego and Punchy. They are currently in quarantine for 30 days, then they will join the aviary. Lego is the YF2 Cobalt opaline hen and Punchy is a recessive green pied male So there you have it.

It is now Monday as I type this, and they went in Sunday, so 1 day and all is good. You are most welcome. Here are the pics. It was getting dark, so that is why the backdrop looks dark. August 18, 200817 yr Great pics! Looks like they are having a good time. Punchy doing his trademark hunch.... (When we first got him, all he did was puffing and hunching, hence "Punchy"... Lego seems to be telling someone off in one of the pics Somehow really funny to see them with all those other birds.

August 18, 200817 yr Author I know that show standard birds need to sit on a perch Elly, I do appreciate that, but i figure in their natural environment, they get all types of branches. In my aviary there are the really thick branches you see there, plus i cut some native aussie plants and put them in the aviary. The budgies strip all the leaves off the plants, chew on the wood, but usually they leave some of the braches. Callistemons have flexible droopy branches, and some birds, especially the younger ones, love landing on these branches, chewing on them, hanging upside down, and generally playing. I will see if I can get some new photos of these natural "play gyms". Lego is telling one bird off in one shot - good on her. I never worry that the birds going in will be too aggressive, but rather, that they will be picked on. I was pleased that Lego was not going to let herself be pushed around
