Posted July 11, 200817 yr I am heading off on my honeymoon during the last week in August and need my pets cared for. I'm a little iffy about paying a local kid to do it given we have lots of birds(I'm worried about them letting the birds loose by accident plus I'm not sure how confident they would be about going into the aviary with the galahs even though they are friendly), plus the other critters. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in housesitting my nice clean, comfy house for about five days in return for caring for my pets. We are well set up for kids so happy for a whole family to come, heck you can bring the rellies if you like there are two queen size beds in seperate rooms(one with a single bunk on top), plus the kids room which has a single bed and one or two cots and another spare room with a single bed so thats 7 bed spaces plus two cots!!! We have two (generally) well behaved dogs which I am happy to get the kids across the road to walk if you didn't want to, one cat, a free range rabbit, blue tongues and the birds. I would of course set food supplies up so you didn't have to do much preparation, just a daily check and food top up would be the minimum, more at your own discretion. We are a two minute walk to buses and a five minute bus ride/20min walk to the closest train station, 20min drive to the city in good traffic. So anyone interested in a cheap holiday in Melbourne
July 11, 200817 yr Oh that sounds lovely MB - I was born in VIC and my dad lives just around the corner from you - he can probably hear your birds from his place I'd love to do it but then someone has to take care of my clan Good luck with your search and i hope you have a BRILLIANT and romantic honeymoon
July 12, 200817 yr What a good idea MB. Hope it all works out for you and the pets PS too far for me to come.
July 12, 200817 yr Way too far for me but I wish I could, good luck on finding a good pet sitter, and have fun on your honeymoon.
July 12, 200817 yr Cool idea, I would also love to come, but it's too far Maybe one day... Hope you'll find someone soon
July 12, 200817 yr Author Some of us should organise a home trade some time. That way we would each get free accomodation in another part of Aus(or the world!) and we would be assurred of someone who would take care of our pets the way we would want them too.
July 12, 200817 yr I don't think anyone wants to visit where I live LOL it is not as exciting as some of our beach areas and such
July 12, 200817 yr not that either lol...we live in Ohio it is pretty much hills and flat land, we have Lake Erie by us. Most people that come here come for the camping adventures and different amusement parks (they are about 2 hours from us). You want mountains you want Nevada, Montana, Wyoming...gorgeous states. July 12, 200817 yr Author Hills and falt land, welcome to most of Australia!! Wide open spaces is fine with me, I like being able to see forever
July 12, 200817 yr I know it is too much just to go to to the west for us it gets pricy and if it a popular state it is even more sometimes, traveling seems to be for the "rich" at times.
