Posted July 9, 200817 yr I have tried mixing pellets in with seed but they just skip the pellets and eat the seed. and i put vegies in a little bowl on the floor but they dont go near it
July 9, 200817 yr I would not worried about using pellets ,if you have a good seed mix they do not need pellets. With vegies it will take them a while to start eating them when you first introduce them. Try sprinkling seed over the vegies.

July 9, 200817 yr A little bit of everything in moderation is good I believe here are some articles from our FAQ section. Pellets are a personal choice some are against them completely others are not you have to do your own reading to make a decision. One thing you never do though is to quit cold turkey with their diet always mix and make sure they are eating, also if you have a 1 or a couple budgies you can weigh them to ensure they are not loosing weight. July 9, 200817 yr sorry i should have said that not using pellets is my personal perference because there are members on here that do use them. You said that they were skipping the pellets and just eating the seed so i was thinking if they do not like pellets then let them have seed.
July 9, 200817 yr Me too I do not use pellet, personal prefence too Elly has provided you with a few reading materials But I will add, that the whole pellet thing must me " A IN THING" as i have read it on a few Caring for budgies articles I still will not use them - They get all their food needs without them, I haven't seen wild budgies look for pellets before lol
