Posted July 7, 200816 yr Just had a interesting read! Hoarding of Pets INCLUDING BIRDS http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/cal...1414218904.html Hmmm
July 7, 200816 yr That's a good way to put it Liv. I have been too that I 'hoard' by non animal types BUT I think the main difference is I only keep animals I am capable of providing proper care for. I guess that would make me more of a collector would it under your theory Liv? Edited July 8, 200816 yr by KAZ turned hard into hoard
July 7, 200816 yr This is how I obtained Saucy Face & Weebil, just 2 small victims of a Hoarder or Collector. The man had budgies, tiels, robins, seagulls, pigeons & more all stuffed into his bedroom, in a 1 bedroom apartment in the middle of the city. No perches. Just shelves for the birds to sit on or hide. He dropped food on the floor for them, usually old bread & sometimes seeds. Can you imagine the smell & noise dirt & debris, feathers & bugs from hundreds of birds in this small room ? The man was mentally handicapped & seemed to have slipped under the Health System & no one knew of the mans living conditions or the conditions of the poor birds he housed in that room. You who have aviary's & huge yards with various animals are not hoarders. You are WHACKY Collectors (But the good kind !) The difference is you have a relationship with each & all of your animals & provide the best for them. You never collect & ignore. Collectors who have mental handicaps or illnesses don't provide for their animals as they become overwhelmed & miss that important point !
July 8, 200816 yr Author That is it there is a difference between " Having Birds" and "Keeping Birds" I like the Crazy cat women saga LOL .... So I guess we are the crazy Budgie wo/man
