July 24, 200816 yr Totally agree with Maes on that one - I still get excited when i get eggs .. and even more when they are fertile- Then i am on cloud 9 when they hatch
July 27, 200816 yr Author No 4 arrived this afternoon while I was at work - plus I put another baby under the mother from an inexperienced hen that wasnt doing such a good job keeping them warm. So all up there's 5 under her with 2 eggs yet to hatch. :hap:
July 27, 200816 yr Congtratulations! He is a good looking boy and with the yellow face of the hen you may get some real nice chicks. And it isnt even spring yet. Who knows this dud could turn into a real stud and give you another round of chicks! Â Anyway good luck!
August 8, 200816 yr Author I have taken some pics of my gorgeous babies today - here they are! I have moved the skinny little chick at the front in the 3rd photo in with a foster mother.. He didnt seem to have much food in his crop and looked a bit thin so hopefully he will pick up a bit.
August 8, 200816 yr You have some gorgeous YF dom pied amongst those WOO HOO !!!!! Â and this little Hen is a stunner !! Â
August 8, 200816 yr Author Thanks Maesie and Kaz. Actually Maesie, I have a confession to make. I was cleaning out their nest box and putting some shavings in for them, so temporarily put them in the new box I had spare. and thats when I took the photo. (I'm too honest!) Â I was hoping I would get at least one like their dad, but doesnt look like it! Unless the little white one in the middle of the group photo is - not sure, can anyone tell?
