Posted July 6, 200816 yr Last time i handraised budgies it was summer so once they where 4 weeks old and had feathers i stopped using my heating cord to keep them warm but i am wondering with Roxy who is nearly 4 weeks old if she still needs to be keep warm by heating, she is by herself.I just moved her to a cage because she keep climbing out of her container.
July 6, 200816 yr In my "kindie cage" of babies that age and older I use a CAR TROUBLE LIGHT....its a light fixture on the end of an extension cord with a light bulb and switch. I put a 25 to 40 watt globe in and hang it on the side of the cage. Looks like this http://www.pet-secrets.com/pics/worklight.jpg available from most cheaper stores. The good thing about those kind of lights is you can move them about anywhere you need them in a birdroom and hook them to the side of any kind of cage for a hospital cage lamp :bluebudgie: Edited July 6, 200816 yr by KAZ
