Posted July 5, 200817 yr It's been a while since i did a photo update of everyone so here they are Last week we had some council workers trimming trees in our street - they gave me a massive branch for my aviary and the birds have LOVED chewing it to bits My inside birds got a treat too - i built them a better play area to sit on the top of their cage - They all play on it all day long Edited July 5, 200817 yr by **Liv**
July 5, 200817 yr Great photos Liv and yeah, they sure do love those branches. It also looks like your play gym is a massive hit... well done. Cute photos too
July 5, 200817 yr Author Thanks Maesie. I am very over due for a new camera - i take all my pics on my phone at the moment, and the quality is killing me lol. I am saving saving saving
July 5, 200817 yr Great pics Liv, your birds look very happy! I put some gum leaves in the aviaries today and had a few left over, so I put some in the breeding cabinets. Well you should have seen them swoop! Even the hens on eggs came out to devour them!!
July 5, 200817 yr Wow Liv they look well occupied LOL ... Looking at those pics, Makes me realise that I have nelected mine from their gum leave for a while * Will go exploring tomorrow P.S Liv do they strip the red bark off ( i haven't given mine that type before )
July 5, 200817 yr Author P.S Liv do they strip the red bark off ( i haven't given mine that type before ) they do strip it off!! They love the red bark more than the leaves :hap: I saved that branch from the mulching machine and it has been a real hit with the birds - Now however it is just making a good perch as they have stripped it BARE - not a leaf in sight Next time i will post you some Zebra - I wonder if we could send you small gum tree cuttings to your country Do you know your quarantine laws???
July 5, 200817 yr Next time i will post you some Zebra - I wonder if we could send you small gum tree cuttings to your country Do you know your quarantine laws??? Really? That would be so cool . I have no idea how is it with posting plants, but I've emailed czech customs office, so I'll see what they say. But would it survive the journey?

It would dry out in the journey, but the birds still like to chew it - Perhaps put in zip lock bags it might keep its moisture??.... I will be interested to hear what customs say
July 20, 200817 yr It would dry out in the journey, but the birds still like to chew it - Perhaps put in zip lock bags it might keep its moisture??.... I will be interested to hear what customs say I've contacted the customs and they told me to contact the State Phytosanitary Administration, but didn't answer my email . But I've read some info on their website and it's probably not so easy, the plant might need some certificate that it doesn't carry any disease that could attack other plants in the country . So I think it's not worth the trouble, it would be too difficult . But thanks for the offer anyway Edited July 20, 200817 yr by Zebra
