I have a first time mum sitting on infertile eggs. What should i do with them? I have read that if you just throw them away it will confuse her and take her longer to lay again?

If youi take them away it should result in her laying again straight away. If you don't want her to breed again let her sit on them until she gets bored.

Throw them away. What you have been told about her getting confused is bad advice. As MB says...she will start laying again assuming she and the cock are "friendly"

I have to wait often for my computer to process things ( I work on complex spatal analysis) so I check BBC in my 'down time'

In my experience Kaz, often if I throw the eggs out they seemed to go off & sometimes don’t lay again for months, but if I give them a chick from another batch they lay again as soon as it’s raised. Or if I let them sit till they give up & throw them out themselves they seem to go down almost straight away. But of course birds vary lots in what they will do.

I let mine ( YF MAUVE you want ) sit for the 15 - 18 day period on her infertile ones ... I tossed them all out

she relaid with in 3 days and i know have 7 all fertile and one hatched today

Damn it i hope they are not too nice lookig babies otherwise you will want to keep her just kidding! Goodluck with it. Lucky you didnt give her to me first or I would have 7 fertile eggs! double damn it! LOL
