Posted July 1, 200817 yr okay when I got the two guys for free for the mouse the breeder said that he would send me their Certificates... Did not think much of it at the time but whatever anyway, got a e-mail over the weekend and attached was the guys certificates They sort of look like this http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/prod...=8369&rel=1 They have the Budgies show name (mine also has a scanned picture of the chick instead of the graphic) Parents names and mutations, hatch date, adoption date, breeders name and ring code and his sig. The other form he sent through was a basic history. I know everytime these guys have been wormed had any form of treatment, seen a vet etc.... WOW if he does this for all his birds then WOW. Granted the guy is a stay at home dad so he has the time to do this while the kids are at school but wow. I thought it was a really nice touch. I found out my Guys are Brothers through their father. Show names are "Royal Brandon" at the front and "Malachi Azazeal" the guy behind I would love to do this for my pet types, but am no prepared to pay for a bunch but figure that if I get a template together then I might look at doing this. maybe not the scanned photo but the rest so that new owners have info to take to the vet etc... and know all the details. Anyone else use them? PS anyone ever watch Hex? Cause if they did I think I am going to have to keep an eye on Malachi Azazeal... also if you know anything of the fallen angels then I think I picked an evil budgie!
July 1, 200817 yr Very cute idea that would thrill the pants off any buyer I would say. Show name ? Never happens, not in any show. But a cute idea just the same Edited July 1, 200817 yr by KAZ typos
July 1, 200817 yr Author I was thinking that Kaz I had not heard of Show Names in Budgies but I figure there are only so many names you can use so instead of sounding like a ponce and calling Brandon "Royal Brandon" all the time he has a stable name and then a different name that links him or something..... I thought it might be something like dogs you get a dog and it has this big long name on all it's paperwork and then you call it Bif or something... so the new owner does not feel like they have to call it by that name. I have a Horse who's breeding / polo name is Captain Hollywood Rain... She is called Holly. I figure it gives the owner and "out" to name the bird whatever they want. There is a slot for common name that is not filled in so i am just going to call them Brandon and Malachi
July 1, 200817 yr I think it's a cute idea especially if they are going to kids as pets. By the way AV as I suspected I have an egg today so Buddy is going to have some little brothers and sisters
July 1, 200817 yr Author I have two but Lemon kicked her fake eggs out so far Storm is doing the good mum thing so everyone is told to stay the F*** out of the study and even I have to use my sisters computer work, Buddy is in my bedroom and we are going to leave her alone and hope like H*** that eveything works this time...
July 1, 200817 yr Well if tthe egg hits the fan again let me know and we can always add them to my spangle girls clutch, atleast it will be easy t tell the chicks apart as I only get spangles , spangles and more spangles from this pair
July 1, 200817 yr I think it is a really good idea and it also to me as a pet buyer would show wow they care to do this as most pet shops don't do that to me it shows they know what is going on with their birds that is me though.
July 1, 200817 yr Author I agree Elly. If I was going to get a pet hand tamed Budgie off someone then this really would show me that the breeder knew what was going on with their birds... as a kid it would just be cool to have pictures of them when they where a baby! Edited July 1, 200817 yr by KAZ changed creeder into breeder
July 1, 200817 yr They just look like pedigree cards, show breeders use them to keep track of who's, who. I know the Pommies name budgies that have done very well at shows. Doesn't happen so much over here. They refer to by there ring I.D and the show it won. You will get pedigree info for big price budgies. Or you can request that the breeder send it to you.
July 1, 200817 yr Author TB that is kind of cool, and yes for big price birds I can see why you would want that. Also wanted to add that I am not saying if you do not do this that you don't care for your birds, I just re read my post and just wanted to make that clear. Oh and Kaz one day you will not have to edit my post
July 2, 200817 yr It is fantastic FLASHY idea ... I have my records, written in a book Hahahah Edited July 2, 200817 yr by Neat
