The only little problem i have with Roxy is she is noisy, whenever she is with me she will not stop chirping. She chirps for her feed and then even with a full crop while i am giving her cuddles she chirps constantly. She stops when i put her back in her container and leave her but i cannot make a noise if i walk into the room she is in because even if she is not due for a feed but hears me she starts chirping. why would she be doing this?

Hey Deb  Roxy is looking fantastic. Definitely a keeper :P

The noise she is making is the same as the way our baby parrots are with their mums. When I had to handraise the princess parrots they also made that same kind of noise to me too. Its kind of like a "feed me" noise and they dont know when to stop the crying out even after they are full.

Libby is a full bottle on all this so give her a PM and she will have some answers for you I am sure :rip:

Roxy has moved into a little cage now because she kept climbing out of her container. She is 4 weeks old now and i am thinking of starting to wean her or is she still too young. I have millet spray in her cage but she is not showing any interest in it and i have sprinkle seed in the bottom of her cage but she is not peeking at that either.

Oh Deb, she is looking fantastic. You are doing a great job, keep it up luv! And her colour... just divine!!! :D

Roxy is 4 weeks old today and she is going really well. I had to show some photos because she is so cute. She hates going into her cage, she would rather be snuggled up in my arms.

AAAAWWWWWwwww She is so adorable :hap: I really love her colour - she is so pretty!! Well done :D

Similar aqua blue to a quaker lol

She's divine Deb, you've done so well she is going to be soooooo bonded to you :D

She has bonded very well and is spoilt rotten. When she needs to have a sleep and i need to get some work done i put her in her cage and i have to put her in the laundry and shut the door so she cannot see me or hear me or else she keeps calling out for me.

What a little honey she is  and her "mother" keeps her crop well filled I see :D

Great job Deb !!

Roxy feed herself today for the first time and loved it. i made her mashed egg with egg and biscuit mix and now she will not eat from the syringe, she would rather feed herself. She will not touch the millet spray at all but will peek at seed that i sprinkle on the bottom of her cage.

She will be a very special bird to me,after all the problems that came with my first cabinet breeding she will always remind me that beautiful things can come from a bad situation. Her 2 brothers are also doing really well with Jenene and her foster hen.

Well done!!!! she is looking fantastic!!! and eating on her own already!! :)

Roxy had a busy day today, i gave her vegies for the first time and she had more fun throwing them out of the container than eating them. I also put some branches in her cage and she worked out today how to perch on them. She feeds herself now and manages to always have a full crop. My little girl is growing up so fast. :(
