June 27, 200816 yr Thats not Salvation Jane Norm, its another broad leaf weed. I know Jane when I see it, it's toxic to horses and I used to have horses. I still just dont like the look of it, I have it in my garden too, I pull it up and chuck it out lol
June 27, 200816 yr my birds love milk thistle which i grow in the garden. if the i have plenty growing then the birds gets the roots as well. thats the only weed i wont pull out for the compost

I still just dont like the look of it, I have it in my garden too, I pull it up and chuck it out lol It looked like one to me Sunnie, but maybe you have some similar looking weeds in SA that I don’t know, as we are mostly a summer rainfall area & you’re a winter rainfall area [when you get it].

June 28, 200816 yr This is SA Salvation Jane It's a horrible plant but looks beautiful when it covers a full field I know what Salvation Jane looks like, but that's in the flowering stage, it has an earlier stage they call the rosette stage, before it starts branching up & producing flower heads. I know lots of people don't like it but it's great for bees it produces 35% protein pollen & bees do great on it. Don't feed it to your birds but. Edited June 28, 200816 yr by Norm
