COOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!

You should do that Adam!!! And take a photo and show us UV budgie disco in action!!! :D

PLZ post a picture of that

Yes, very interesting article. Even if we can't see the nice fluoresceing colours, we can still see their beautiful, bright cheek patches! :)

Do all budgies have cheek patches?

Just imagine Adam, seeing all of your budgies in UV light, that would be more colourful than a firework display  :artist

That can be arranged, as I work in the theatre business! , mostly lighting department, so I could get powerful UV lights!

Wonder what effects that would have to my budgies eyes??

I have no idea. I might not try that then! LOL

Dont want blind budgies!

You know, i never thought of the effect it would have on the birds!

I didn't think it wouldn't have an affect on the birds

Yep thats definatly interesting and wierd. As I am a bit of a sunworshipper, maybe thats why my babies havent come to me yet!! Better get some suncream!

glow -in-the-dark budgies ? whatever next ! the pictures looked pretty freaky to me as well ? mistymoo

These are cool piccies, thanks for the link...they are very very interesting!

I watched a programme on tv and it was telling you about how they glow to other bugies, so grenns and yellows are most likely to have a partner then a blue...very amazing (Laughing out loud)

thats so freaky!!

I knew birds could see more of the spectrum than we can, but those pictures are really freaky.  I never thought about what it would look like.  Imagine if we could see ultraviolet light too...but then again, there are probably things we are exposed to we'd rather not see anyway.   It would make you afraid to go outside, (Laughing out loud).  Good link!  That could be why some birds pair up naturally and others bicker all the time.  Maybe they really don't like the way the other bird looks!

Hmm good point...I don't like the way my brother looks and we bicker all the time :(Laughing out loud):

....Jokes :D
